Want to avoid a cold this winter?
I have found some great tips for avoiding a cold this winter! Mostly from my own experience as I am not sick that often and when I am sick, it doesn't seem to last very long.
1. Boost your immune system - pour a glass of juice in the morning and drink up! Orange, grapefruit, whatever you like!
2. Go greek - eat yogurt! It is a probiotic and helps strengthen your respiratory system.
3. Eat your veggies - dark, leafy greens fight infection. Disguise these in smoothies and soups if the family can't quite get into the green spirit.
4. Satisfy your sweet tooth - with dark chocolate! Hey, it's full of antioxidants!
5. Keep clean - shower frequently because germs can stay on your skin where they can find their way into your system. Showers can help relieve congestion as well.
6. Stay moist - add a humidifier to keep the air in your home from drying out.
7. Chicken soup for the soul - you will get quick relief eating chicken noodle soup aka nature's penicillin. It speeds up mucus movement and eases congestion. Tastes good too!
And last but not least, get some rest! Listen to your body and take a cat nap!
Even if you are seeling good right now, keeping these tips on your mind may help avoid that nasty cold that is coming to you this winter!
